“In stories of Greek Mythology, The Oneiroi were primordial deities, children of Nyx (night), and had numerous siblings, including Hypnos (sleep), and Thanatos. (death). They were the personifications of dreams, coming from the caverns of Erebos, the land of eternal darkness beyond the rising sun, the Oneroi pass through one of two gates. The first of these, made of horn, is the source of prophetic god-sent dreams, while the other, constructed of ivory, is the source of dreams which are false and without meaning. According to some, the leader of the Oneiroi is Morpheus, a god who appears in the dreams of kings in the guise of a man bearing messages from the gods.”
